Privacy & data

Privacy Policy

Riftbound Chronicle captures only what is needed to create the match log and optional replay requested by the user. It does not sell user data, use it for advertising, or infer hidden opponent information.

Information Chronicle handles

The extension reads realtime messages from a user-selected RiftAtlas game tab. These messages may contain player display names, legends, the user's submitted decklist, cards revealed during play, game actions, timestamps, scores, and results. When the user starts video capture, the extension also records audio and video from that selected RiftAtlas tab. It does not capture unrelated tabs, browser history, passwords, authentication cookies, or the desktop.

How information is used

Captured information is used only to record the requested RiftAtlas match; build turn-by-turn logs, deck snapshots, statistics, exports, and replay timestamps; recover interrupted captures; provide optional account synchronization; and prevent abuse of Chronicle's services.

Local storage and account synchronization

Consent choices, capture settings, match-event data, recording state, and pending replay segments may be stored locally in Chrome storage or IndexedDB. Signed-out match reports remain in that browser unless the user creates a share link. If the user signs in, match reports may be synchronized to the user's Chronicle account through Supabase. Supabase handles account authentication; Chronicle does not receive or store account passwords.

Video capture and YouTube

Replay video remains in the browser until the user downloads it, discards it, or chooses an upload. For Chronicle-channel uploads, encrypted video segments pass through Chronicle's upload service only as needed to send the replay to YouTube and are not retained on Chronicle's servers. Users may instead upload to their own YouTube channel. YouTube's handling of uploaded video is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service.

Sharing

A user may explicitly create an unlisted Chronicle report link. That link contains the selected match report and, only when the user enables the option, an embedded YouTube replay. Anyone who receives an unlisted report link may view and redistribute it. Chronicle does not otherwise make private match reports public.

Service providers and data sales

Chronicle uses service providers only where necessary to deliver its stated features, including Supabase for authentication and account data, YouTube for optional replay hosting, and the infrastructure that operates riftboundchronicle.com. Chronicle does not sell user data or use captured information for personalized advertising.

Retention and deletion

Local recording segments are removed after the browser releases or discards them. Users may delete Chronicle match reports and revoke shared-report links from the Chronicle website. Deleting Chronicle data does not delete a separately hosted YouTube video. For privacy questions, account-data deletion help, or deletion of a replay uploaded to the Chronicle YouTube channel, contact riftboundchronicle@gmail.com.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Riftbound Chronicle's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Browser permissions and captured content are used only for the extension's single purpose: recording a user-initiated RiftAtlas match and creating its match log and optional replay.

Security and policy changes

Chronicle uses encrypted HTTPS connections when transmitting information. This policy will be updated if the product's data practices materially change, and any new practices will be disclosed before they apply.
